Ok ... so I did some more research.
The market share of IE on Macs is significantly lower than I thought.
A study was done in Jan 2003 (a LONG time ago in web terms) that said it was around 12%.
Then, 65% of Mac Users were on, and were presumingly happy with, Safari.
