Starck on the Kindle



I must admit to be very disappointed at how ugly and dated the Kindle was when I first sighted it... it could only have been worse if it were beige.

Mr Starck put it as follows:
With this kind of product... the interesting thing is what is in rather than what is around. That's why the right product for this, is to have the minimum around the interesting thing. That's why it's almost sad but the designer was not courageous and humble enough to completely disappear. It's a little sad because as a concept it's very modern, but the designer is less modern because the guy doesn't want to disappear.... no, no.... it's almost modern.
