It's with great sadness that I read today of Yma Sumac's passing last November.
I still remember vividly when I first heard her wailing (Taki Rari on a television commercial in Germany) and how I fell for the madness of her voice straight away...
In tribute to an extraordinary vocalist...
Ironically enough - as Amazon disturbingly notified me when I was looking up the name of the song - I bought Mambo on February 18, 1999.
Correction: Wires crossed... I just relistened to Gopher Mambo and now fairly sure that's that song.
