It's simply beyond comprehension but we really shouldn't complain.
Amazon is selling Henri Cartier-Bresson's 'The Man, The Image & The World' in paperback for just US$11 (!) This retails for quite (!) a bit more in bookshops here.
I got my copy last week after literally waiting for years for it to drop in price... Very beautifully printed book with quality supporting essays.
I really enjoy and am inspired by Bresson's geometry and tone. The decisive moment (pre- and post- rather than the incident) is a key thematic in how I work and think.
It is interesting seeing the work in such a volume as - like Weston, Adams et al - the importance and influence of the modernist aesthetic is still very relevant in contemporary imagery.
