Friday night and it's alright...

So... we will hand-deliver our ArtsWA grant applications tomorrow after much drama, tears, the odd tantrum, etc.

More coincidently than anything else we will be revisiting Lalo Schifrin the same night at the Perth Concert Hall.

Saw him at least three times in Cologne (Latin Jazz Suite, Esperanto, Jazz meets the Symphony and I think one other time) with the WDR big band. Went through a Schifrin 'phase' and I have 20+ of his albums plus smatterings of others where he was doing arrangements for Jimmy Smith, Dizzy Gillespie et al.

Could say I'm a bit of a fan.

I envy you.
And i thank you for this unexpected appearance of 'Bullit' on my desktop.
Lalo Schifrin adds to the flawless elegance of this film. 'Bullit' is one of the rare examples of a perfect film. Everything is just right: the look, the pace, the light, the movements of the camera, the sound and of course ... Steve McQueen, Robert Vaughn and Robert Duvall.
Films like this are no longer made.
