A photographer typology...

I was flicking through a book that Martin gave me - Free-Falling - and came across a portrait of Tracey Moffat that has intrigued me ever since the first moment I saw it.

I'm assuming here that the image is a theatrical reenactment but I do nonetheless like the idea of the photographer being a hunter in some wild jungle. Obviously with Moffat's work it takes on other, more political overtones but it would still seem apt in a broader sense.

... so, I had thought about looking around at others and I've since put together a quick 'board'. We do seem a solemn lot don't we? Nan Goldin's image is by far - as with most of her work from that period - the most substantial.
