Ich war schon immer der Meinung, dass die Osteuropäer die besseren Fotografen sind. Danach kommen gleich die Skandinavier. Es mag daran liegen, dass die slawische Seele immer schon in einem halb wachen und halb träumenden Zustand schwebt. Das schafft einen anderen Ausgangspunkt und man sieht und fotografiert einfach anders. Bei den Skandinaviern, zumindest den Finnen, habe ich ähnliche Erfahrungen gemacht. Dazu kommt noch, geografisch bedingt, das besondere Licht.
A translation (albeit with my rusty German) would be as follows:
I was always of the opinion, that the east Europeans are the best photographers. Close behind are the Scandinavians. It may be because the Slavish soul is always swinging between a half wake and half dreaming state. This creates another starting point and people see and photograph simply differently. With the Scandinavians, at least the Finnish, I have had a similar experience. In addition to that comes, because of geography, the special quality of light.
