And now for …. any entomologists?

We've discovered a few of these in our garden and this one was sick and easy to collect. This is about 4cm long whereas we have previously seen bigger ones around 6cm.

They resemble a Sandgroper but have very odd arms/claws.

Any ideas?

Yes! I know exactly what they are as we have them too and had no idea. They are called mole crickets and if you think you are hearing frogs in your garden but can't find them, it's actually these ugly buggers... Love Karen :-)

Thanks Karen.... much appreciated. We have spotted frogs too but it explains how it can get very vocal out there at night!
